Applications Scientist
This position supports the sales force from a technical perspective in interactions with customers and potential customers. It requires being a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsible for full customer support of both Fischione and TVIPS GmbH products. TVIPS is a major manufacturer of cameras and software for transmission electron microscopy (TEM).
With time, needs to develop an acute knowledge of both Fischione’s and TVIPS’ products as well as competitive devices and techniques. Required to participate in sales calls and trade shows. Performs advanced product demonstrations as necessary. Responsible for full customer field support, including independent installation, on-site customer training, telephone/email support, and hardware and software troubleshooting of new and existing products. Responsible for ensuring that products meet operating specifications, performs documented service, and manages scheduling and logistics.
Maintains microscopy facilities and is responsible for procedures, documentation, and equipment performance. Performs original research and publishes in peer-reviewed journals. Participates in technical conferences and contributes presentations or posters. Promotes company’s image and products through technical forums and application notes. Creates and ensures the technical accuracy of any corporate literature or publication. Frequently collaborates with Fischione’s end users.
Requires a Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, Biology or a related subject and strong transmission electron microscopy (TEM) experience for various life and physical science applications. Experience with TEM camera technology, digital imaging, and electron tomography is beneficial. Must be willing to travel between 25% and 40%, both domestically and internationally.

CNC Machinist
In this position, a skilled machinist will be required to perform intricate and close tolerance machining of small, advanced precision components, in low quantities, using CNC equipment (mills and lathes) and/or manual machines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Three plus years experience in the setup and operation of CNC Lathes and/or CNC Vertical Mills. Preferably this experience will include utilizing Okuma, Fanuc and Siemens controls.
- Editing G-code programs to make adjustments if needed. Additional programming experience would be beneficial.
- The ability to use trigonometry and perform standard machining calculations is needed.
- A working level knowledge of Windows-based PC operation.
- Applicants should be extremely detail oriented.
- The ability to use a wide variety of measuring devices to inspect components produced.

Machinist - Second Shift Group Leader
In this position, the Second Shift Group Leader (“SSGL”) will be required to perform intricate and close tolerance machining of small, advanced precision components, in low quantities, using CNC equipment (mills and lathes) and/or manual machines. In addition, the SSGL will be responsible for ensuring that the scheduled workload is completed on time and for providing support, direction, and assistance to the second shift machinists on all areas of their assigned duties. The ideal candidate for this hands-on position will lead by example and perform all of the duties required by a CNC/Manual Machinist. The SSGL will report directly to the Machine Shop Supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Five plus years experience in the setup and operation of CNC Lathes and/or CNC Vertical Mills. Preferably this experience will include utilizing Okuma, Fanuc, and Siemens controls.
