Fischione Instruments CFO David Casuccio was named by Pittsburgh Business Times as a Pittsburgh's CFO of the Year in the Manufacturing category at an awards ceremony held November 17 at the Omni William Penn Hotel, Pittsburgh.

A brief profile of Casuccio was published by the Pittsburgh Business Times:

David Casuccio

Chief financial officer, chief operating officer, E.A. Fischione Instruments Inc.

Current responsibilities: Finance, manufacturing operations, human resources, information technology and establishing international E.A. Fischione Instruments subsidiaries and branch offices

Education: B.S., prelaw and business administration, University of Dayton

Prior Experience: Chief financial officer, RJ Lee Group Inc.

A few days after this interview, David Casuccio, CFO of E.A. Fischione Instruments, Inc., planned to fly to Germany as the point person setting up a new division for the company. “I’m handling all the organizational details setting up the new division,” he said.

Casuccio, who holds a prominent role with E.A. Fischione, joined the company in 1999 after being approached by Paul Fischione, the CEO.

“At the time, we had 20 employees; now we have 80.  Growing a company is difficult, but it’s rewarding to see it happen,” he said.

With that growth has come increasing responsibility for Casuccio, including the recent addition of 20,000 square feet to its headquarters in Export.  “I was responsible for the financing, the tax-exempt loan and working with general contractors,” he said.

Before his current job, he worked with RJ Lee Group Inc., a Pittsburgh-based startup his brother was involved with.  He set up the financial systems for the company, then stayed for 16 years.  Casuccio also spent a few years as a deputy sheriff in Jefferson County, Ohio, then worked for Williams Steel Co. in Weirton, Ohio.
